Acceptable Use Policy

Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") sets out what you may and may not do with the biz collect Service. It is incorporated into our Terms of Service and applies to anyone accessing the Service, whether interactively or programmatically.

Allowed uses

The Service is designed for legitimate business-to-business use cases, including:

• Building lead lists from publicly listed business contact information.
• Integrating business-listing data into your own sales tools, CRMs, dashboards, or LLM-powered agents.
• Enriching your existing business records with publicly available contact data.
• Building internal tools that surface publicly listed business information to authenticated users of your own product.

Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the Service:

• To collect, target, or build profiles on natural persons in a personal (non-business) capacity. The Service is scoped to businesses and to individuals listed in publicly available business directories.
• To send unsolicited commercial communications ("spam"), engage in unsolicited bulk outreach, harassment, defamation, or fraud.
• To impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.
• To circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security or access controls of the Service, including bypassing rate limits or quota enforcement.
• To resell, redistribute, or relicense raw API output as a competing data product or as a substitute for the Service.
• To train machine learning models on bulk scraped output of the Service for redistribution, without our prior written consent.
• To scrape content that is behind authentication, paywalls, or access controls of third parties via the API.
• To violate any applicable law, including data-protection law, anti-spam law, intellectual-property law, or sanctions regimes.
• To use the Service in any jurisdiction where the collection or processing of the relevant data is unlawful.
• To use the Service for activities that pose a risk of harm to people, including stalking, doxxing, or facilitating violence.

Reporting abuse

If you believe the Service is being misused, report it to info@bizcollect.dev. We investigate every report and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in any of the following, in our reasonable discretion:

1. Warning - written notice and an opportunity to remediate.
2. Suspension - temporary suspension of API access pending investigation or remediation.
3. Termination - permanent termination of the account, with no refund of any prepaid fees.

For violations involving illegal activity, threats to people's safety, security incidents, or material risk to the Service, we may suspend or terminate immediately and without prior notice.

Changes

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes are announced with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
